How Restylane® Works
Restylane® is hypoallergenic, suitable for most adults seeking improved facial aesthetics. It is injected directly into the dermis, where hyaluronic acid binds with water molecules, plumping the skin. Each molecule can bind up to 1,000 times its weight in water, filling moderate to severe wrinkles and restoring lost facial volume.
After approximately six months, the hyaluronic acid gradually breaks down, and a touch-up treatment is recommended.
Restylane® vs. Botox®
Restylane® and Botox® are different treatments. Botox® relaxes muscles by blocking nerve signals, reducing frown lines. Restylane® uses hyaluronic acid to fill facial lines and restore volume. Botox contains Botulinum Toxin Type A, while Restylane® relies on a substance naturally found in the body.
