Placement Procedure
Straumann® implants usually involve three dental visits:
Visit 1: Planning
Thorough examinations, including three-dimensional X-rays, are performed to determine optimal implant placement.
Visit 2: Implant Placement
- Local anesthetic is administered to the site.
- An incision is made in the gum tissue to expose the jawbone.
- The Straumann® implant is inserted into the bone by screwing or tapping.
- A cap is placed over the implant, and the surgical site is sutured.
- In some methods, implants can be placed directly through the gum tissue without additional incisions.
Osseointegration occurs over 3–4 weeks, stabilizing the implant in the jawbone.
Visit 3: Restoration
The custom-created dental crown or prosthesis is permanently attached. In certain cases, the restoration can be placed immediately during the second visit.
Straumann® implants provide a long-lasting, functional, and natural-looking solution for missing teeth. For any questions or concerns about Straumann® implants, please consult your oral health professional.
